Darkness and Light - My Colours: Realism - III

Darkness is not an absence of light. It is the presence of light in absence of opaque things.

Since time immemorial, human beings have been afraid of darkness. Because, the obvious animal instinct are dependent on external sensory organs other than justification and reasoning. The prime sensory organ that helps in understanding the environment, is the Eyes. Eyes help in observation and understanding the security of the environment to a great extent. The situation, when a living being can not understand the security level of a situation, the being naturally becomes impatient and concerned about own existence (different kind of existence). 


1.  Experiment: In absence of light, the Eyes function in different degrees for different species of living beings. Let us consider two cases:

Case 1: Let us consider the case of Dogs. Why do they bark when they hear a sound and the source can not be seen? Do human beings shout in such cases? No. Human beings do not shout always. But a Dog always bark. The pupils of their eyes gets dilated. Because their cerebral cortex, or reasoning section of the brain are less developed that that of human beings and they fail to "understand". So, when they can not understand a thing, they are likely to feel more insecure and defensive than the humans. And everybody knows, the first reaction to defense is offense. Attack. So they start barking. But if we analyse the levels in fear and reactions to it, (beyond the scope of this article) we will be able to understand when one dog barks and when another dog runs away to find a safe place. Perception is an individual phenomenon, for any living being.

When it is a familiar sound, they still bark. But the nature of that bark is different than that in fear. Rather they are like "I am Upset" .. "Hate it"... "Love it".. "Why so late?" ... "Yeaaah... you are home..!!"... "Why dn't you come near??" ... "When are you going to pat me?" etc.

Case 2: Let us consider the case of a Human. What will the human do when the person hears a sound whose source can not be seen? The reactions will be different in different people. I have watched some sub-cases:

•       A female child of 5 year old: The girl comes to near the source and stands. She also asks like her parent does: "who is it?", in a normal voice.
•       A male child of 2 year old: Simple keeps on playing with his alphabet cubes after a little gaze to the direction from where the sound came.
•       A male of 70 years age: The person comes out of his room and approaches to the source shouting "who is it?", more aggressive than worried.
•       A female of 30 years age: The person approaches to the source and stops at a safe distance and shouts "who is it?" more worried than aggressive.
•       A male of 19 yrs age: Simply overlooks the sound and keeps busy in his activity, especially if it is slouching.
•       A female of 15 yrs age: Same as above.

the set of reactions are : Curiosity, Indifference, Negligence, Worry and Aggression.

Now, when the same experiment is carried out in darkness, the reactions converges to worry and aggression, when the sound is not familiar. But if it is familiar, or understandable, like slamming of a door in breeze. A few cases there exists fear, whose insecurity levels are high. But in other cases, there is no reaction at all. Because, then the "Cerebral Cortex" comes in action and process the available information with the level of security perceived about the environment. This generates the signal "acceptable".

So, it is the level of security perceived in one's own mind. In broad aspect, mind is brain. But when the "Logical mind" does not function, it is all the primitive animal instinct that comes in action.


2.  The Myth: The primitive knowledge tells us inability to see is threatening. So, Darkness is bad. It is a possible threat to the existence of "Clarity". When something is dark, we do not get much information about it and we should stay away.


3.  Analysis: So, eventually, darkness becomes "Evil", and all we have to do, is to "Win" every "Darkness" by "Light". Light is the symbol of knowledge whereas Darkness signifies ignorance. Yea. I do not hate this course of thinking. They are pretty natural, though primitive.

Visuality is regarded as "proof" of existence. All sensory identification is such. As far as the modern scientific methods go. Understanding has the following stages:

• Sensory perception
• Interaction with knowledge base
• Processing of information to raise a set of possibilities
• Narrowing down the possibilities with the previously gained understanding of the perspective and trial of fitting those possibilities
• Reaching down to a single possibility and that is the definite "understanding".

On the basis of this, our whole world is standing, taking the shape in front of our mind.
But trouble occurs when we start to realize, yes, we may be wrong in our "previous" understanding. Then we have no choice but to question everything. The chain breaks. and when they occur in multiple sequence, there is complete lack of consistency in decision making, though no dearth of consistency in thinking. That's when our behaviour gets jeopardised even if we are completely sane. You can think of it like a multishaped object inside our brain with several points (denoting possibilities), each reaching to all of the rest (many to many mapping). And we can call the state as "Everything is Possible". When the object grows bigger and bigger, our perception of it becomes lower and lower, since the perception ability is limited. So does our attachment towards it. Then perhaps "Peace" is attained. Because, Peace is not the absence of the object. It is absence of the "Perception" of the bothering object (set of possibilities).
[Can't say anything definite about this state of mind, have not yet reached it. But have felt of the growing object analogy and lesser attachment.]


4.  The Fact: Light is there even in darkness. If there is something Opaque, that reflects the light (show the existence of) then we can see and reach to a definite "understanding" and can make decision about it. We depend on understanding to make decisions. If there is nothing or a Transparent thing, or something Opaque that absorbs the light, our "Sense" of understanding gets screwed. And the Primitive instinct tells us that, it is a threat to our existence. Discontentment Rises. Insecurity rises.


5.  The Abuse: People who have been "possessing" the conventional sources of "Power" / "Security", against the conventional sources of "Insecurities", have been using the Primitive instinct(s) in their own favour as a way to treat their own "Perceived Insecurities". Two such devastating effects are:

• Colour Discrimination among Human beings: We have got addicted to the white skin as proposed to be "beautiful" and "sublime" and "sacred" etc.
• Prevention is better than Cure: Even if we do not know what exactly are we preventing from, it is really helpful to keep ourselves busy from other self constructive stuff.

Infact, the whole monetary and many religious worlds are standing on it. It is beneficiary for some people if one can keep a mass in constant fear. Whoever it be they are afraid of.

But we need to understand one thing. The universe is black. Light travels straight through or gets absorbed by perfectly opaque bodies. There ARE, in fact, thousands of possibilities. But, we need to move past our sensory primitive understandings. There are limitations of our sensory perceptions. Darkness is not always threatening. If there would be no darkness, we could never get a good night sleep.

"Fear" itself is the greatest Evil we are dwelling with. It is an abuse to the development of Human Race, in this Universe.
Another Evil is "Fixated Ideas". We can never say something specific, what we do not know for sure.
Darkness is also Peaceful, not always threatening.
Darkness reverts back our attention into our thought process and we find different realizations.
Everything is really possible. We can not really plan our actions. We must depend on our sensory understanding AND other perceptions and wait for the moment. In right moments we do act in the way Perfectly Right with our own individualities. To kill our individualities, is to kill ourselves.
And one can not be fixated about the adjectives that generate inside our minds about other's individualities (expressed by their instantaneous Perfect actions).
The insecurity, we really are running away from, is not insecurity at all.
It is a process of change.
Darkness, Light and Colours are agents in that process with their own properties.

Knowledge-Feel-Learning: The Realism - II

Language, Science, Philosophy etc, the so called "Schools of Thoughts", in the shape and form we know them today, are of a mere 2000 yrs of origin. But human beings have developed over some 80K - 50K years. I think, in the basic process of procreation and securing one's existence, there has been a flow of knowledge acquired and feelings realized coupled with the wisdom generated. It is the most probable flow of those stuff. They all can not be just "Poof"s. So, much is still hidden in corners of old - older civilizations than that is recognisable by the knowledge base and learning process of "modern" age.

The process of Learning has become rigid, orthodox and institutional. The openness is not realistically feasible anymore. All that we are following today, without any tinge of hindrance I can say, are the fruits of the colonialism of European and Arabian countries. That is not much to know or hate.

In the natural process of evolution of Human Brain, there has been the sense of "Property" for all that made a human happy. This sense grew stronger and become more effective for and by those, who were the possessors of so called sources of "power" against the "sources" of insecurities. Such insecurities pose considerable threat to the existence of an object over time and place. Even if there is no actual power that can completely override such insecurities, in real perspectives, the concept of possessions kept on rising due to the "feel-great" instantaneous (over debatable time period) experience they provide.

So, the geographically challenging places made the inhabitants to be extrovert and exploring (in outward direction). That also engaged them to be concentrated on the immediate feels of sensory systems. There came the active usage of the calculating, analysing and decision making parts of the brain that contributed in the cognitive learning process. This is what was distributed and contributed in perceptible form in the modern civilization, hitherto.

So, the traditional knowledge and wisdom-Base, has become practically almost unreachable for the modern learning process and "Schools of thoughts". To realize them, we need to break free from the institutions of "conventional modernism" and really practice the "Open mind" to be able to have any idea of our truely traditional flow of knowledge-feel-and-wisdom. Realizing them will be a far challenging and troubling task for us.. the new aged "Homo sapiens".

Time..

When dreams decide to go away
and refuse to come back
leaving you in a state

The body knows, it is the time.
When dreams decide to refuse to lay eggs,

of that - looking away, stagnant dreams.
So that the rest of your body can have it.
Even if you decide to stay -
with the footprints of your dreams, and say, "Goodbye".

The Gate

The Gate-
An old and rusted one,
the one quite abandoned,
the one, making the difference,
between the worlds-
of noise..
and of peace.
And I was passing
through the later.
Among the trees living-
and a leafy sky above-
only a few houses,
quiet in that evening.
Making way to the sound
of birds' cluster, reaching-
alone me..
Alone.
Though the trees could
see a few more humans- by
and around me-
Swashing among themselves
and the outer "She".
I turned the Gate
It crackled
It said,
Something-
Perhaps telling me not to pass through..
Perhaps just wishing well-being.

But I was to go there,
To the other side,
The other side of the world,
Dazzling with noises severe.
Wondrous, no doubt. And,
A different experience altogether,
Was waiting, for my part.

So, I turned the Gate
The old and rusted one,
The one, perhaps-
Waiting for my touch.
And I went through
Left it behind.
I left it abandoned,
Just like before -
Quiet.

Grand-Father Clock

The Grand-Father Clock chimes at night
Amidst the quivering silence
Perhaps each drop of golden curves
Born, lived and melted into the stillness
Could give birth to a fairy-
Fluttering the wings with sparkles
taking over the magical curtain
of mist over onto the land,
where the dreams end. And..
Rainbows are born...
of black and white.

The journey-

Economics: The Realism - I

Economics, in the form and shape we know it today, is of some 250 yrs of origin. At the time of its infantry, it was as simple as only a subject of wealth analysis of a nation and thus, that of individuals forming the nation. Through the long journey of its growing up, it has mingled with several other subjects and developed itself in a huge size with various parts. These parts resemble to other subjects like Physics, Mathematics, Philosophy, Biology, Psychology and so on but these precludes the real materialistic experiences of the dominant creature of this world - the human beings. History tells us that, in the process of human civilization, the commanding weapon over environment to search for the assurance of security of the existence has been transformed from physiological strength, stone –wood –metallic strength and strength of accumulated production. In today’s world, a total summing up of the strength can be seen in the strength of command in a world, named monetary world, which is based on units called “Money”—human created, human valued human nurtured and dependent upon by human beings only.

The forms of Strength has been different for different individuals at different point of time in history. We don’t know what other form of strength will we become familiar of in future, but I guess it’s partly in our hands as well.
The raw material of the production of strength is Insecurity in living beings. Animals have always been trying to secure themselves over time and environment. But have they really ever been Secured? Is there really any instance of Security in real world? Mortal beings eventually die and lose everything they starve for. But there is a big business out there that uses this intrinsic fear of Insecurity and the inherent conceptions of Strength in different dimensions. The business is not Geography bounded, it is overflowing all around the world. And that is injecting the idea of Monetary evaluation in every aspect of human lives, slowly taking away the very basic human qualities away of perception from all of us. In the name of cultivating our basic Animal Instincts, we are losing our very own Human Instincts as well.
The forms of Insecurity, as studied by me, is something as follows :

Animal instinct is that, they want to ensure that they have better security over the threats that the life can pose. So there is the eternal chain of comparisons with every other mortal being and they “Feel Bad” if found less secured. This is the key ingredient of the so called Development of Human World; in Business, in Politics, in the field of Knowledge and Researches; everywhere. And there comes the strange Exit :”If You Feel Bad, Do…” … a thousand lucrative / nonlucrative options that incorporates money. Money has become the sole parameter of the well-being and the “True” worth of human beings. Even if you don’t have any of the strengths but have money, you can “Buy” every strength.
The Strength and Insecurity had different degrees in different era. Based on the degrees, there was the simplest form of human realization : The idea of Exchange to become Better-Off, mainly in psychological parameters, even if not in Reality, in Vertuality.
And thus the core of Economics was born inside Human Brain. Though it was perceived much later when the exchange process became more substantial so as to be attended upon. In earlier days human natural quest for the cause and effect of their existence gave birth to Mathematics, Philosophy, Astronomy, Linguistics and Geography. The wide attractive area in those human created and explored world captured all the attention of human brain to leave any room for psychological and sociological aspects of human existence. However, there were isolated strands of ideas concerning those areas but until the eighteenth century, there was no concrete foundation in the western world and Economics was perceived as a science of sociological behaviour of human beings over the concept of wealth as the father of Economics, Adam Smith, in England puts it.
In Indian scenario, isolated by geographical position from the rest of the world, the idea of economics was developed as we can see in the writings of “Kautilya” the finance minister of the Gupta Age(3rd Century AD).
It has been the core of interest for every regional civilization, to find the cause and effect of every natural happenings with diverse logics acceptable by different people. Every civilization had its own ideas and detailed findings of the same and none can be inferior to any other. Only those who has exhibited the more or the most command over the world by invasion – the imperialism, helped the expansion of their ideas and expressions that we are following today.
Human mind is susceptible to every little details of the environment. Even a small newspaper’s news can affect the mind in a way that cannot be obvious but can have deep-rooted behavioural changes. That should be borne in mind while dealing with human psychology. In different countries there are different socio-economical issues and to reach them one must need to speak their languages. What is being done today, is, an idolism is placed with which about 70% of a country’s population is unaware of but since it happened to use the delegates of the first world, which looks lucrative to the population, something like “People with Huge Potentials” or “People who live in heaven like environment” or “God sent people” and they are being followed. Every regional traditions and human values are just at the brink of destruction.
A new force is to be there right now to save humanity, to bring about the lost self-esteem of every cast and culture and mutual respect for each of them securing geographical and political existence of the country and to do this each country-population must be made aware of by reaching them out in their own way. Otherwise, everything will remain the same, just the topic of discussion at the dinner table of a handful of people.
Therefore, the Study of any subject cannot be devoid of these facts. It is the high time that Education must take the unified form by integration of all the subjects, as none is actually very different from the other, that also duly emphasized on one’s local culture, tradition and socio-economic structure; to prevent it from falling apart.
